HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE ACS STUDENT GROUP!
After a very inspirational Marine Mammal's class under a certain professor (ahem, Dennis Kelly), me and a few other students in his class at Orange Coast College decided to form the first Student Group under the American Cetacean Society in California.
Our goal is to have a group of young people passionate about marine science and education (with a focus on cetaceans!) that meets on a monthly basis to talk about the group and marine science news, goes on lots of fieldtrips, outreaches to the public, and works together with ACS to share a love of the ocean and some of its most beautiful and intelligent creatures.
If you're interested and want to check us out, please shoot me an email or fill out a form with your name and email (Contact Page). To learn more about the American Cetacean Society, go here: http://acsonline.org/. And check out my blog, Whale Tales, for re-caps on our fieldtrips and my personal adventures in marine science!
Flukes up,
Nicki Barbour
